The time I made a famous ad…

Dear Diary,

I know what you’re thinking, “Wow that Dachshund looks familiar!” and yes, you’re right – I am… I was part of the Heinz 2016 Super Bowl ad that has received over 7 000 000 (yes MILION) views on YouTube.

What an amazing day… They treated us like the royalty we are!

When we arrived at basecamp they had already set up some “trailer crates” for us where we could settle in and get ready for fur and wardrobe. They had an area with refreshments and shade where we could meet and mingle with all the other Dachshund on set. They even had humans to carry us around so we won’t get too tired (short legs and all that)!

At first I wasn’t too impressed with the wardrobe as I’ve never been one for dressing up, but Mom kept telling my how cute I looked and I liked that… And sure, the others looked cute as well…

And then the Director called for us…

I will admit I was a little nervous! I didn’t know what to expect and there were a lot of people and cameras everywhere, not to mention the weird bottles, but then the Director asked if there were any dogs who liked peanut butter and licking – I knew it was my time to shine.

I did find it a little strange that they wanted me to lick the peanut butter off of the bottles’ faces, but hey, who was I to question creativity?

After lunch (yummy!) we had to shoot the most important part, the running scene. It was so much fun! I love running and as an added bonus I got a little after-lunch snack every time I got to Mommy.

Even though it was one of my all time favourite days (so far), I was very tired after all the excitement, playing, eating, licking and running!

So you’ve seen some behind the scenes photos, now here’s the ad! Keep a look out for me at second mark 00:04, 00:16 and 00:54…
